Wishlist: Matching Separates

I'm swooning over separates these days. Something like this would be perfect for our trip to Hawaii. I can't resist the allure of a matching skirt and blouse set. It's the best of both worlds: wear it as a dress (my favourite) or wear them separately! I'd get so much wear out of a set like that.

There is something about this print I really love. It's very versatile - the cut is summery, but the print is dark enough it could be worn layered in the fall or winter.

Wishlist: Miss L Fire Bluebird Sandal

The no shopping stint is officially over. I went thrift and vintage shopping with my pal Daphne from Vixage last Tuesday and I'm seriously debating buying these Miss L Fire Bluebird sandals before they disappear.

I mean really. What rockabilly girl could resist these?!?!!


...sigh...I'm so weak...lol!! I'll probably order them before the week is up...

Wishlist: Trying So Hard Not to Shop

A local musical theatre company is presenting the Broadway version of The Little Mermaid this August and like a true fangirl I've already bought my front row ticket. I kinda want this tee so I can wear it when I go...like the dork that I am.

Wishlist: Vintage Wicker "Figural" Handbag

I'm trying not to shop. I should really stay away from Etsy right now...seriously.

This past weekend while I tortured myself with online browsing I decided my purse collection isn't complete without at least one of these vintage sculptural handbags. And I don't want a fish or a horse head. I want something kooky, like these guys! (ok, fine, let's be honest...I'd be cool with a fish...)

My new holy grail. These bags are retailing for $400-600 online, but hopefully I can snag one for under $100...you never know...Winnipeg vintage is priced strangely...if one crossed my path at the right price this spring I may have to break my no shopping rule. damn.

Wishlist: Vintage Blouse

I've been falling in love with vintage separates these days. Mostly I think in an effort to wear more vintage day to day as I wear separates almost all winter.

Wishlist: Vintage Monogrammed Cardigan

I'm a bit sad posting this…the image below is a cardigan I was coveting heavily on Etsy for a while, but didn't have the money for. It sold not that long ago.
It was perfect…perfect colour…monogrammed 'L' and the right size… sigh…

Now I'm on the hunt for something similar…

Please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to…it might cheer my up…

Wishlist: Watch This

I own a few watches - none of them vintage. The batteries in them are all dead. In fact, because of that I haven't worn a watch in years (plus I have a clock on my iPhone!). However, I am smitten with the idea of wearing a dainty vintage watch - most of them are so pretty it's like wearing a functional bracelet.

Wishlist: Seamed Stockings

I've been coveting seamed stockings as of late. Fall is right around the corner and I'm already thinking of ways to wear fur and keep my legs warm in skirts.

What Katie Did stockings are the right price. I really like the nude stockings with contrast seam.

Wishlist: Leopard Print Dress

Like any good vintage/rockabilly girl I love leopard print. I have several leopard print shoes and live in my leopard print scarf in the winter. 

Until very recently I considered this bold print to be for accessories (and possibly a cardigan) only until I bought myself a pair of leopard print skinny jeans! I have since reconsidered this opinion and have been lusting over leopard print dresses in chic lady-like cuts. I want my leopard to be classy!

Wishlist: Vintage Umbrella

It's raining cats and dogs in Winnipeg today...in fact, it was yesterday too...and Tuesday for that matter...we're a little water-logged here.

I'm not one to be wandering around in the rain without an umbrella - gotta keep my hair dry or it gets out of control!! The umbrella I own is cute enough: modern, collapsable with a small black and white houndstooth print on it. Works just fine.

Since we've been struck with a deluge this week, however, I've turned my sights on prettier, vintage umbrellas on Etsy. Most of these parasols and umbrellas are probably better used to shade from the sun, but isn't it a romantic idea to use a vintage umbrella in the rain? I think so.

Wishlist: Vintage Hawaiian Dress

I'm am dying to go to Hawaii. The Boy's family has a time-share just blocks from the Waikiki Beach. He has been three times. Me: none. *sigh*

We talk frequently about going, but it's just not in the budget right now. So I keep dreaming and looking forward to the day when we do finally get there.
