Family Photos 1: 1940's

Here is my first selection of photos from the enormous pile I received from my Mom a few weeks ago. I've decided to group the photos loosely by subject.

This group is all photos from the 40's.

In truth, I don't know who most of these people are. I do however enjoy real photos of people in real clothes from the 40's. Especially winter photos and the girl mixing patterns in the photo below! I thought you'd like them too.

I really love this photo of the diner waitresses.

This is my Great Aunt Louise. I think she looks so smart in this photo.

  1. I also love the photo of your Great Aunt Louise, wearing her beauticul costume. I was a child in the 1950s and then ladies did not call the skirt and jacket combo a suit it was always called a costume.

    Although I call modern outfits a suit I always think of the outfits in the old pictures a costume!
