...I haven't gone the way of the Dodo. My current Stage Managing job is turning out to be quite a bit more stressful and all-consuming than usual.

What a charming vintage ornithological illustration. I use that expression sometimes, too - that and "gone the way of the dinosaur" (which for some reason always makes me picture Dino from The Flintstones when I say it).
