Congratulations Kevin & Danielle!

We're back from The Boy's brother's wedding.

It was a great day! We were a little worried in the morning before the guests arrived as it started to rain, but luck was on our side and the clouds parted, the sun came out and shone on us for the rest of the day. Couldn't have been more perfect.

Here are a few of the photos I snapped in no particular order:

On the dock. I think Danielle looks so cute in this picture!

The day couldn't have been more amazing. We had a great time! Congratulations Kevin and Danielle! Love you guys! <3

BUSY!

Not enough hours in a day right now. Honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed...

K & D's wedding is this Saturday (K is The Boy's brother, so as you can imagine there's a lot to do...) and I've been working nights on Henry V. My days have been consumed with running errands and working. Not much time for blogging in there...

On the bright side the weather has been utterly gorgeous here for the past two weeks and working outside has been quite nice.

Bear with me friends as I patiently wait for some sort of normalcy to return to my life.

Inspiration: Keiko Lynn

I love everything about this outfit! The colour, the fascinator, the dress, the shoes, her hair and makeup. It is just perfection. Doesn't hurt that the setting and photography are so stellar!

It is everything I love about wearing vintage. The modern shoes and hair with a lovely vintage dress and accessories.

Remember This One? If Only...

Hey! Remember this Wishlist Post of yore?

Well I am still looking for the perfect vintage kimono dressing gown.

I found a beautiful one over at Dear Golden's Etsy shop. I literally gasped when I saw it.

Here she is in all her loveliness:

Are you a high roller? Buy it here

But a little out of my price range at $240.

If only...

Tulips are Better Than One

Ok...that was bad...

I'm sorry you had to read that.

What I meant was: I bought some beautiful tulips at the grocery store the other day! All of this live beauty for $5! Can't beat it!

I need to do this more often. These make me happy! :)

Workin' hard or Hardly Workin?

Well Shoot. It's been nearly a week and I've posted nothing!

If you're a long time reader you may already know that an absence of more than a day or two usually means I've gone back to work.

This time 'round I'm working for Shakespeare in the Ruins. They're presenting one of the history plays: Henry V.

The cool thing about working for SIR is that they present Shakespeare's famous works in the open air! And this year (after a 7-9 year absence while performing in Assiniboine Park) they are returning to the St. Norbert Ruins where the company was founded. So I'm pretty excited to be working for them this year on their triumphant return!

If you live in Winnipeg, this show is not to be missed! SIR performs in a promenade style and it's a really fun way to experience live theatre.
For tickets call: (204) 942-5483 (there is a 20% off sale on tickets until May 24th!)

Dressing Up a Gift Card

Sorry I've been away all weekend. Two days seems like an eternity on the internet doesn't it?

I've been busy with family functions. A funeral on Friday and a wedding shower on both Saturday and Sunday.

Oh, and I started work this week. It's Prep Week for my next show.

With all this going on I've had little time to buy shower gifts. So a gift card was in order (And really, who doesn't like spending other peoples money?!). The only problem with giving a gift card is that they're not very visually appealing.

I set out to fix this problem with some pretty vintage wrapping.

Both of the Brides-To-Be got a gift card in a box like this:

The paper is vintage wrapped around a small box with a lid. I wrapped the ribbon so to open the box all you have to do is lift the lid!

And of course, the bow and tag are both hand-made by me!

I wish I had taken a photo of the other box, it was similar, but different paper and I made a different bow and tag. Ah well...

Don't you think this makes getting a gift card so much more special? And you can keep the box!

Signs of Spring

Nothing could be better than the sight of pretty shoes lined up at our front door. It must be spring! :)

Wishlist: Trashy Diva Doll Dress

I don't often fall in love with repro dresses. With the wide selection of actual vintage in my size, both online and in store I rarely feel the need to supplement my wardrobe with reproductions.

But this one is different. I'm not sure if it's the blush pink, the sweet pattern or the cute style. Maybe the combination of the three, but I am smitten.
Please be mine!

(My birthday is coming up! If someone wanted to get this for me I'm a size 8! lol!)
